More blog than you can shake a stick at

phone.jpg

Okay, so I haven’t been here in a while. I admit this site could end up being a waste of internet space, if I don’t do something constructive with it. So here is a slight update.

Can you hear me now?

I’ve officially crossed over to the dark side… I’m now using Verizon as my wireless telephone provider. My baby was on Verizon, and since I love her so much, I switched. Alltel was real mean about letting me keep my number, and my contacts. Not to mention we had to wait for an hour+ to talk to a rep at the Alltel store. It was different at the Verizon store, walked right up, no wait, to buy my LG Chocolate. I like is so far. Everyone that I talk to regularly should have gotten my new number by now. If you haven’t, and would like it, please let me know.

This Evening’s Plans

Meghan and I are going to go check out “Across the Universe” tonight. Hopefully it will be awesome. We both have high expectations.

Late!

Daily updates?

Sure, why not, I can certainly try…

For now here is a picture of Meghan:

FA-Shing!

Hi happy people!

Alrighty, long time since a “real” update, so bear with me . . .

 New Tom Mark Headquarters

I think the reality of moving into my new house soon has finally hit me. I did my final walk through today (looks beautiful) and closing is scheduled for the 5th of June. I’ve been packing here at Tom Mark Production Headquarters in preparation for the move. It’s less than a mile away from here, so it should be quick and painless. They are having issues getting power to the community and I’m hoping that gets resolved soon, because I’m going out of state on the 14th for a week (more on that later). That, and I don’t think the mortgage company would want the closing date to move.

This house comes with a monitored security system standard, and all the smoke detectors are connected to it, which means the fire department will be alerted of a house in the community being on fire without the tenant having to be there! Neato!

Meghan and I need to hit a furniture store soon to pick out some nice looking stuff, to replace the cheapo looking IKEA furniture I have in this house (especially my TV stand). IKEA style furniture is nice, but it doesn’t really have that “Wow!” reaction when you first see it, more like a “meh.” reaction.

1/2 a year with my baby

Meghan and I are quickly approaching the six month mark! WOO-HOO! I was going to get her a promise ring for 6 months, but, since I was so anxious to show her that she’s the girl that I want to spend the rest of my life with, I gave it to her shortly before our 5 month. So, now I have to think of something else to get her. hmmm.

For this milestone of an anniversary, we are going back to the place where we had our first date. Maybe we’ll sit down on the same bench where we played the hand game for the first time (and she’ll beat me, just like she always does), then walk down to Sharper Image and mess with all the stuff in there, like we always do. We’ll hold each other’s hand tightly and breathe in deeply as we realize that it doesn’t get any better than this. I love you baby! Saturday will be a blasty blast.

Meghan vs. Getting Hired

Right now, Meghan is touring the Chandler Elementary Schools, handing out her resume. Everyone should wish her luck on the employment front and send out good vibes her way. Hopefully these schools will realize that they should hire her. She’s going to make an awesome teacher!

Pirates! Eeeeeeeee!

Tomorrow I am going to the Cine Capri for the first time ever. It’s not the original Cine Capri, but it will do . . . yup, it will do. The reason: Pirates of the F#@$ing Caribbean, baby! WOOOOO! A friend from work invited me, he happens to be going with the Phoenix Fan Force (a Star Wars fan club). So that means I get to meet some new people! I can’t wait for this movie!

Me in MI

Today, I also picked up the suit I will be wearing to Meghan’s cousin’s wedding. We’re flying to Michigan on the 14th (5AM is early :P) and I won’t be back in AZ until the 20th. This will be a opportunity to relax and not worry about work for a change. Plus I get to meet some of Meghan’s extended family. If they are halfway as cool as her parents and sister, I should have a awesome time! I can’t wait!

More Chubbs

This is somewhat of an homage to Frank Miller (as much as I can homage Frank Miller in a comic intended for the whole family). This is about as serious as Chubby Bunny is going to get. Don’t worry, it is all zaniness and goofy cartoon humor from here on out. I just wanted to start it off like a legitimate comic book. Let me know what you think!

Chubby Bunny: Enter the Cover

Okay,

So I think Chubby Bunny is one the the best ideas I’ve been a part of creating, so I figured I would keep this one up for a change. How I’m going to do this is I’m going to release a page at a time of a Chubby Bunny “Comic Book.” To start off, here is the cover to the first issue. Tell me what you think.

UPDATE: Meghan reminded me that Chubby Bunny has a catch phrase that would fit nicely into this situation. I also cleaned up some of the lines and fixed the “mysterious Evil’s” arm.

Another comic. I call it . . . no.2

Some of you that followed my Daily series “Tom Mark Daily” in 2004 might remember that I did an “Inside Tom’s Head” comic. this is a sequel of sorts and it introduces Meghan as a new character. So Enjoy! Let me know what you think!

T-U-R-T-L-E POWA!

I ramble, so **spoilers** may or may not be present in this post.

Went to see the TNMT (pronounced “TinMint”) last night with Meghan, Oscar, and Emily.

First of all, note to Hollywood: don’t do another turtles movie without the Shredder. DON’T DO IT! Turtles III didn’t have the Shredder and it killed the franchise. Sure, the Shredder is mentioned multiple times in this new movie, but a flashback to a fight scene or something more would have been nice. Not just a “They defeated their enemy the Shredder” complete with a still comic rendition of him on the screen. Of course the Shredder’s helmet on a shelf at the end (including a nice broken canister of OOZE next to it) was a nice homage. And where the hell was the old theme!? Come on!

And where does this movie get off in thinking there will be a sequel? That’s some “Masters of the Universe” level cockiness right there. At the end the new leader of the Foot Clan was all like “There’s still more to explain about us, we’ll see you again suckas! Peace!” What if your movie doesn’t do so hot, and you have no chance for a sequel? Then you just look foolish, Skeletor foolish! The world is still waiting for his ass to come back. The rest was mind numbing action and very snazzy CGI. Overall, it was an average movie. Childhood nostalgia was not enough to boost this movie any further.

Cheers!

A little more work done

I’ve also created a comic likeness for Meghan today, click on the thumbnails below if you want to take a peak. Doesn’t quite capture the beauty of the real her, but there is no beating the real deal. :)

Talking ’bout my baby…

Meghan’s really been helping me a lot lately in coping with personal social issues. She’s the sweetest, most understanding person, and beautiful to boot.

The night before we left for California recently, I had forgotten my eyeglasses. Even though it was midnight, she voluntarily drove me all the way from Chandler to my house in Mesa to help me get them! Then, when we were in Disneyland and I ate a bad ham sandwich, she was there by my side watching over me, taking care of me! She has been succeeding in caring so completely where others before her failed so miserably. She is such a genuinely sweet person and I could never repay her for all that she has done for me lately. My life would be bad news bears without her love and support.

I told her today that there is nothing I would change about her. Nothing! I love you baby, thank you for everything you’ve done for me!

Valentine’s kicks ass!

Haven’t been in a relationship during Valentines Day that often in my life. I used to see Valentines as a day that reminded me of just how single I was. I would say “that’s not for me, I’d rather be single and buy myself gifts. F#@$ love!” However, after the events of the last weekend, I can’t believe what I was missing. BTW, we had to wait until Friday/Saturday to celebrate. We are working people and non paid holidays should know better than to fall on a Wednesday. Dammit! Anyway . . .

I got the biggest stuffed bear I could find (now named Mr. Cuddlesworth), the biggest Valentines Day card I’ve ever seen, a bunch of flowers, chocolates, and, most importantly, ruby heart pendant w/ small diamond on it. Seeing her face after giving her all this was the greatest thing in the world.

In return she gave me a lot of gifts including stuffed animals, chocloate, and a Spider-Man shirt (she knows me too well). The best part, toping anything any other girl has done for me, is she cooked a romantic dinner for the two of us. She even brought over candles, decorations, and “School of Rock” to watch (”Turn it on its side and Chelloooo! you have a bass!”). She made the most amazing baked pasta dish in the entire world, she knows the way to my heart. Holy crap, it is like a party erupts in my mouth every time I take a bite. Yeah, it is that good.

Yeah, I’d say I’m enjoying being at this party, as Dane Cook would put it, I’m not looking for my coat (Geeze, I can’t even go a blog post without paraphrasing Dane Cook).
